A Kings Painting Story
Once upon a time, there was a kingdom. The king there had only one leg and one eye, but he was very intelligent and kind. Everyone in his kingdom lived a happy and healthy life because of their king. One day the king was passing through the corridor of the palace and saw the pictures of his ancestors. He thought that one day his children would walk down the same hallway and remember all their ancestors through these pictures.

But, the king did not get his portrait made. Due to his physical disabilities, he was not sure how his paintings would turn out. Therefore he invited many famous painters from his own and other states to the court. Then the king announced that he wanted to put a beautiful picture made by him in the palace. Any painter who can accomplish this should come forward. The painting will be rewarded based on how it turns out.
All the painters started thinking that the king had only one leg and one eye. How can his picture be made very beautiful? This is not possible and if the picture does not turn out beautiful then the king will get angry and punish them. So one by one everyone started making excuses and politely refused to make the painting of the king.
But suddenly a painter raised his hand and said that I will make a very beautiful picture of you which you will definitely like. The king was happy to hear this and other painters also became curious. The king gave him permission and the painter started painting. Then he filled the picture with colors. Finally, after a lot of delay, he said that the picture was ready!
All the courtiers, other painters were curious and nervous and were wondering how the painter could make the king’s portrait beautiful as the king was physically disabled? What if the king did not like the painting and became angry? But when the painter presented the picture, everyone in the court including the king was stunned.
The painter created a picture in which the king was sitting on one leg on a horse, holding his bow and aiming an arrow with one eye closed. The king was very pleased to see that the painter had cleverly hidden the king’s disabilities and created a beautiful picture. The king gave him a huge reward.
Moral Story:- We should always think positive about others and ignore their shortcomings. We should learn to focus on the good things instead of hiding the weaknesses. If we think and have a positive attitude even in negative situations, we will be able to solve our problems more efficiently.
