One day Buddha was passing through a village. A very angry and rude young man came and started insulting him, “You do not have the right to give correct teaching to others,” he shouted. “You’re just as stupid as everyone else. You’re nothing but a fake.”
Buddha was not distressed by these insults. Instead he asked the young man, “Tell me, if you buy a gift for someone and that person doesn’t take it, whose gift is it?”
The man was surprised to be asked such a strange question and replied, “It must be mine. Because I bought the gift.”

Buddha smiled and said, “That is correct. And it is exactly the same with your anger. If you get angry at me and I am not insulted, then the anger falls on you only. Then only you are sad, not me. All you’ve done is hurt yourself. If you want to stop hurting yourself, you have to get rid of your anger and find love instead. When you hate others you become unhappy yourself. But when you love others, everyone is happy.”
Moral story:- If you want to avoid harming yourself, you have to control your anger and learn to love. When you are angry you will not be happy and if you love everyone will be happy.
