Christmas Story in English
Story of Jesus’ birth
A young woman named Mary lived in a city called Nazareth and was engaged to a man named Joseph. One night, God sent an angel named Gabriel to Mary. The angel told Mary – God is very happy with you and you will soon become pregnant and give birth to a child. Name him Jesus because he will be God’s son. Mary was scared but believed in God. He was confident that everything would be fine.
The angel told Mary to stay with her cousin Elizabeth and her husband Zachariah because they would soon be the parents of a child who would prepare the world’s way for Jesus. Mary stays with her cousin for three months and returns to Nazareth. Meanwhile Joseph was concerned about Mary having a child. But an angel appeared to him in a dream and told him that Mary would give birth to a son of God. She told him to fear her and accept Mary as his wife.
Jesus means savior and the child will indeed be a savior for the people. Joseph woke up from his dream and the very next day Joseph and Mary married each other. After some time, Joseph and Mary had to go to Bethlehem, which was a long distance from Nazareth. It was not long before Mary was due to have a child so they traveled slowly. When they arrived in Bethlehem they had no place to stay because all the inns and lodgings were taken over by other people.
Joseph and Mary took shelter in a shelter filled with cows, goats, and horses, and Jesus was born that night. After Jesus was born, he was placed in a temple (a place where animals were kept) and wrapped in swaddling clothes. When the shepherds came to tend their sheep, they saw an angel. The angel told them that their Savior was born today in Bethlehem. The shepherds did not believe but were surprised and happy when they saw Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus.
A bright new star appeared in the sky at the time of Jesus’ birth. In a faraway land there were three wise men who knew that this was a sign of the arrival of a great king and they went to find him. King Herod heard that the wise men were seeking a great new king. Who will take his place. King Herod planned to kill the child but no one knew about it yet.
The three wise men followed the bright star. Until they came to a stable where Jesus’ family lived. He gave him gifts and worshiped him as the son of God. They also knew the king was bad. So they did not tell him about the place where the child Jesus was. Joseph was warned by an angel in a dream that King Herod would seek him out to kill Jesus. Therefore, if they go to Egypt they will be safe.
This was the place where they remained until the death of the evil king. When Herod failed to find Jesus he ordered all the little children of Bethlehem to be killed. After Herod’s death Jesus and Mary left Egypt and traveled to Israel. He spent the rest of his life in Nazareth.

He called him and shared lunch with him. He made a pair of small shoes for the child.
Days passed but there was no news of Jesus. He was very eager to meet. Beggars came and went. Papa Panov’s fed them and helped them without any consideration.
