The Needy King and a Sage Story
A sage was passing through the capital of a famous king. While he was walking, his eyes fell on a coin on the road. He picked it up. He was satisfied with his simple life and had no use for that coin. So, he planned to donate it to someone in need. He roamed the streets the whole day but did not find anyone like him. Finally, he reached the rest area and spent a night there.

Next morning he wakes up for his daily chores and sees a king going to attack another kingdom with his war-ready army. When the king saw the sage standing, he ordered his army to stop. He came to the sage and said, “O great sage, I am going to war to conquer another kingdom so that my kingdom can expand. So bless me to be victorious.”
After thinking carefully, the sage gave a one rupee coin to the king. The king was confused and angry at this because what good could he get from a coin when he was already one of the richest kings! He curiously asked a monk, “What does this one coin mean?”
A sage explained, “O great king! I found this coin yesterday while roaming on the streets of your capital. But I got no benefit from it. So, I had decided that I would donate it to someone in need. I roamed around your capital till evening, but did not find anyone like that. Everyone was living a happy life. It seemed that they were satisfied with what they had. So I couldn’t find anyone to give me this coin. But even today the king of this kingdom desires to have more and is not satisfied with what he already has, I thought you needed this coin.
The king realized his mistake and abandoned the planned war.
Moral Story:- We all must learn to be happy with what we have. Yes, we all desire more or better than we already have, but don’t waste the chance to enjoy what you already have. There will be some people who don’t have what you have, and there will be some who have much more than you. Don’t always compare, be happy and live a healthy life.
