1. The Lion and the Rabbit
Once there was a Lion in the jungle who used to kill 2-3 animals daily for his meal. All animals went to him to tell, that daily one of them will come to him for his meal.
So, the Lion agreed and this started going for many days. One day, it was Rabbit’s turn. When he was on his way he saw a well.
Now he plans to kill the lion and save himself. He went to the lion and told him that, there is another lion who claims to be more powerful than him.
Then the lion asks the rabbit to take him to that lion. The rabbit takes him to the well and said he lives here. When the lion looked in the well he saw his own reflection and jumped in the well and dies.
Moral: Wisdom wins might.
Two friends and the Bear
Once there were two friends who were crossing the jungle. After some time they saw a bear coming towards them.
Then, one of the friends quickly climbed the nearby tree and the other one did not know how to climb the tree. So he lays down on the ground holding his breath.
The bear reaches near him and sniffs him in the ear. After some time bear left the place, thinking the man is dead.
Now the other friend climbs down and asked his friend, what did bear said to him in his ear? He replied,” to be safe from the fake friends.”
Moral: Beware of fake friends.

The Hunter and the Pigeons
One day a hunter sets a net to catch birds and placed grains and rice over the net. After some time a flock of pigeons comes by and start eating grains and get caught in the net.
After some time they started losing hope, then their leader asks them to fly together up in the sky. They did as they were told and carried the net away.
The hunter runs after them but they flew away to their friend’s mouse hole. Then the mouse cuts the net and freed the pigeons.

The Stork and the Crab
An old stork lived by the side of a fish pond. He was now too old to catch fish, and he had to come up with an idea for a meal. Suddenly he had a good idea.
He stood in the water with a sad face. A crab came to him and asked him why he was so sad.
The stork said, “I have heard that this pond is going to dry up soon and now I have to fly to another pond.”
The worried crab asked the stork to save the animals in the pond as well.
He would fly towards another pond with some fish in his beak. Once he reached far from the pond, he would eat them. He did this many times.
Now it was the crab’s turn. When they were flying the crab looked down but could not see a pond but saw bones of many fishes. The crab immediately realized what was happening and grabbed the stork’s throat tightly with its sharp claws. The stork kept fighting to be free. But the crab stayed. Soon the stork fell to the ground. The crab crawled back to its pond to tell the story to the rest of the pond creatures.
Moral – Too much greed is bad for you and will only cause you harm

Stupid Thief
One day a rich man came to Akbar’s court hoping to get help from Birbal. The man suspected that one of his servants had stolen from him.
The clever Birbal thought of a plan and gave sticks of equal length to all the servants of the merchant. He also told them that if they were thieves then by tomorrow the stick would grow by three inches.
The next day all the servants gathered near Birbal. He saw that one of the servant’s sticks was three inches shorter than the other. Birbal immediately understood who the thief was.
The thief had cut the stick three inches short because he thought it would increase by three inches. Because of this his crime was proved
Moral – Truth always comes out in some form or the other, so it’s better to be truthful from the start.
