Poem on Children’s Day

1. On Children

Your children are not your children
They are the sons and daughters of
life’s longing for itself
They come through you but not from you

And though they are with you yet
They belong not to you
You may give them your love
But not your thoughts

For they have their own thoughts
You may house their bodies
But not their souls
For their souls dwell in

The house of tomorrow
Which you cannot visit,
not even in your dreams
You may strive to be like them

But seek not to make them like you
For life goes not backward,
nor tarries with yesterday
You are the bows from

Which your children
As living arrows are sent forth
The archer sees the mark upon
the path of the infinite

And he bends you with his might
That his arrows may go swift and far
Let your bending in the archer’s
hand be for gladness

For even as he loves
The arrow that flies
So he loves also the
Bow that is stable

2. My Precious Child

Poem on Children's Day

The greatest gift we will ever know
is a child, born to love and grow.
Conception is a miracle in itself;

the start of new life and good health.
Such a treasure your precious child is,
who will thrive on every hug and kiss.

Hold them close and sing them songs;
they will only be a child for so long.
They may not always smell pure and sweet,

A dirty diaper or a dampened sheet.
But with a loving cuddle and a beautiful smile,
the joys of parenthood are all worth while.

“Thank you Lord for our precious child.”

3. Children’s Day

The sweet li’l steps
That can fill the relationship gaps,

Children are the angels
With the cutest nap!

Adorable like a rose,
With them, even the shanties

feel like bungalows.
A heart clean, pure and white

Symbols of peace infinite.
This is the most relaxed period of life,

Need only cheese on pizza slice!
Handle them with care,

Grant them a bright future.
Give them impetus for a joyous ride,

Just be their friend,
philosopher and guide!

4. The Children’s Hour

Between the dark and the daylight,
When the night is beginning to lower,
Comes a pause in the day’s occupations,
That is known as the Children’s Hour.

I hear in the chamber above me
The patter of little feet,
The sound of a door that is opened,
And voices soft and sweet.

From my study I see in the lamplight,
Descending the broad hall stair,
Grave Alice, and laughing Allegra,
And Edith with golden hair.

A whisper, and then a silence:
Yet I know by their merry eyes
They are plotting and planning together
To take me by surprise.

A sudden rush from the stairway,
A sudden raid from the hall!
By three doors left unguarded
They enter my castle wall!

They climb up into my turret
O’er the arms and back of my chair;
If I try to escape, they surround me;
They seem to be everywhere.

They almost devour me with kisses,
Their arms about me entwine,
Till I think of the Bishop of Bingen
In his Mouse-Tower on the Rhine!

Do you think, O blue-eyed banditti,
Because you have scaled the wall,
Such an old mustache as I am
Is not a match for you all!

I have you fast in my fortress,
And will not let you depart,
But put you down into the dungeon
In the round-tower of my heart.

And there will I keep you forever,
Yes, forever and a day,
Till the walls shall crumble to ruin,
And moulder in dust away!

5. My Childhood

My childhood was fun,
Tough and exciting,
My childhood was one,
Where there wasn t much fighting,

This is my childhood,
My childhood was filled,
With family and friend,
My childhood was filled,

With love and lots of happy holidays,
My childhood was filled,
With tricycles and bicycles,
My childhood is filled,

With lots of classwork and homework,
My childhood is filled,
With parents that don t work,
A annoying loving

brother and sister s,
This is my childhood,
My childhood is filled,
With a grandmother that

was caring and loving,
When I left her,I was hurt,
But it s for the best,
I remember the good

And happy times,
We shared together,
This was my loving childhood,
That I will not forget,

This was my childhood

6. THE GODLY SEED

The wisdom of God has always
wanted big things to come in small packages.
And like grace in unlikely places,
so is the story of a child.

In us (children), God shares
His experiences with Humanity
(patience, love, discipline, leadership, etc).

Its a practical class.
For In our heart is the possibility of Heaven
And like us are those who live there.

We are the glory of God concealed and it is
your honor to find us out.
We are the heritage from the

Lord, a weapon of defense,
and a great company for comfort.
The most blessings of any

family is hidden in us, by God.
Like an arrow in The hands of the mighty,
the one who shoots us, as directed

by God will never miss his target.
We come into your lives,
you love us, we grow,

we learn, and we love you back.
We are that godly seeds
the great husband man searches for.

7. A Child in the Garden

When to the garden of
untroubled thought
I came of late, and
saw the open door,

And wished again to
enter, and explore
The sweet, wild ways with
stainless bloom inwrought,

And bowers of innocence
with beauty fraught,
It seemed some purer
voice must speak before

I dared to tread that
garden loved of yore,
That Eden lost unknown
and found unsought.

Then just within the
gate I saw a child, —
A stranger-child, yet to
my heart most dear;

He held his hands to
me, and softly smiled
With eyes that knew
no shade of sin or fear:

“Come in,” he said, “and
play awhile with me;”
“I am the little child
you used to be.”

8. Nature s Child

A Young Child Lived
On Mountains High
Each Morning She
Touched The Smiling Sky.

The Clouds Were White,
The Sky Was Clean.
Her Mountain Home
Was a Beautiful Scene.

One Darken Day The
Weather Grew Warm.
Their Heavy Clouds
Produced A Storm.

Harsh Rains Caused
The Child To Sicken.
She Became ill And
Seriously Stricken.

Alone On The Mountain
Without Assistance
Her Illness Grew With
Deadly Persistence.

The Mountains Heard
Her Feeble Cry.
Something Must Be
Done Or She Will Die.

The Mountain Beacons
White Clouds Of High
To Offer Assistance
And To Quickly Try.

The Clouds Then
Formed A Massive Arrow.
Pointing To The Child,
Straight And Narrow.

The Cloud Arrow Was
Seen By Mountaineers.
It Took Them To The
Child, Then Disappears.

They Treated The Child
And Made Her Well.
As They Cast Away
Her Sickly Spell.

Her Health Returned
As She Kissed The Sky.
And Caressed The
Clouds That Paraded By.

How Did She Survive
This Test Of The Wild ?
The Answer Is Simple,
She Is Natures Child!

9. My Dear Child

If I could, I would remove all your fears
If I could, I would remove all your tears
If I could, I would make life painless
If I could, I would give you all your courage

Like a deck of cards; you must
learn to deal with life as it is dealt
You must hold your chin up and walk tall
Let no one ever force you to
be shorter than you really are
Stand tall, stand strong, and
your strength will guide you

If I could, I would remove all your fears
If I could, I would remove all your tears
If I could, I would make life painless
If I could, I would give you all your courage

I will always be by your side
even if you can’t see me
I will always be in your heart,
even if you can’t feel me
Listen in the wind and you will hear
my whispers and feel my hand
Stand tall, stand strong, and
your strength will guide you

If I could, I would remove all your fears
If I could, I would remove all your tears
If I could, I would make life painless
If I could, I would give you all your courage

My child, you are a very big part of me
I feel when you are sad,
I hurt when you are hurt,
and smile when you smile
As years move on and so will you
Remember my love, stand tall,
stand strong, and your strength will guide you

10. Where Do The Children Grow

When you see a smiling face,
Their happiness all over the place,
Singing, laughing, cries of glee,
Come, they say, play with me.

The slide, the swing, the monkey bars,
Look at them close to see who they are.
Lots of races, Ready, Set, Go.
This is how the children grow.

If you watch them every day,
You’ll see they learn as they play.
They’ll do what they see and say what they hear.
You’re their teacher throughout the years.

Their ideas and thoughts in their eyes shine.
Imagination is a glimpse of their mind.
When you’re not looking, don’t you know
This is when the children grow.

Watch them as they learn to walk,
Listen to them when they talk.
Keep them safe, away from harm,
Wrap them gently within your arms.

Teach them to share and how to take turns.
Set good examples from which they will learn,
At home, at school, wherever they go.
This is where the children grow.

Children’s Day Poems From Teachers

11. HAPPY CHILDREN’S DAY

Poem on Children's Day

A child is blessed everyday,
To fulfill the dreams and &
overcome hopes and fears.
This children’s day isn’t

just for the children;
But to remind the adults
to dry their tears.
From hearts and minds,

Spirits and souls.
Children love each
other with no strings,
So on this children’s day;

I pray that all of us hold,
To one another’s hands
and together sing.
Today in this land and

all around the world,
We too have the spirits of
‘Chacha Nehru’ to follow.
To love our fellow

youths as once he did;
This is a spirit that has
encouraged the hearts
that had become hollow…

I hold in my heart
the hopes and wishes,
Of every teacher
today in this place;

With hugs and love
and heart felt kisses;
to let me know that
this is ‘Children’s day.
