The Ant and The Grasshopper
Once upon a time, there lived an ant and a grasshopper in a meadow by the river. It was during the hot summer season when the ant was working hard collecting wheat grains from the farmer’s field.
The ant used to work hard all day from morning till evening to collect heavy grains in balanced quantity on his back. Then she would carefully put the grain of wheat in her closet and run back to the field to collect another grain. She ran back and forth between the farm and her larder, often repeating this task throughout the day.
On the other hand, there lived a grasshopper in the meadow who spent all his time singing and dancing. He often scoffed at the ant for working so hard all day collecting grains. He often called Ant to sing, dance and join in the fun with him.
However, the ant would ignore him and continue with his work. This made the grasshopper laugh even louder and he often mocked the ant that they had enough food to last themselves through the summer.

Hearing this, the ant said that she was saving some food for the cold season and advised the grasshopper to do the same. The grasshopper did not pay attention to his words and kept dancing and singing happily.
Soon summer turned into autumn and autumn into winter. The snowfall made it freezing cold outside and the sun was barely visible and the nights were long and dark. Because of the cold, the grasshopper lost his interest in singing and having fun. He was cold and hungry and had no place to escape from the snow outside. He thought how to save himself from this difficult situation.
Suddenly he remembered about the ant and went to it for some food and shelter. He went to her place and knocked on her door for help. When he opened the door, the grasshopper offered him a song in exchange for some food and shelter.
To this the ant replied that he had worked hard in the summer to save enough food for the winter and was then mocked by the grasshopper. He gently asked her to sing and earn her food and shelter elsewhere. Then, the grasshopper realized that instead of being lazy in singing and dancing during the summer, he should have saved enough time for the winter.
Moral story:- Work hard today, and you may reap the rewards tomorrow.
